Turn text into authenticated digit groups and clear spoken number sequences. Communicatio Secreta combines directional one-message pads, tamper detection, replay protection and encrypted audio containers in an offline-first Windows desktop terminal.
Every transmission remains available as exact digit groups on screen, so operators can listen, read, copy and verify the same authenticated envelope. Clean speech is the default: active-speech levelling, compression, peak capture and a final soft limiter keep digits intelligible while reducing sudden volume spikes.
Structured SEND and RECEIVE pad packages share a public identifier. Role checks prevent a SEND package from decrypting or a RECEIVE package from encrypting.
The receiver validates format, pad identity, direction, sequence, length and authentication tag before recovered plaintext is released.
Each message derives a one-use HMAC-SHA-256 key from a separate pad slice. A durable local ledger rejects reuse, replay and double-spending.
Authenticated groups render as spoken digits or seal into an encrypted .nspt container with the exact transcript and WAV audio.
Core encryption, decryption, authentication and playback do not depend on a web service.
PANIC clears the current pad, message, digit groups and audio buffers on a best-effort basis.
Communicatio Secreta does not promise “military-grade,” “unbreakable” or “zero-knowledge” security. It documents what the software protects, what it trusts and where it can fail.
OTP confidentiality can be information-theoretic only when every secret digit is uniformly random, kept secret and used exactly once. Message authentication is computational. Endpoint compromise, duplicated pads, restored security state or an untrusted release can defeat the system.
The current implementation includes authenticated envelopes, directional pad roles, pad identity, durable one-use tracking, strict parsers, authenticated encrypted containers and repeatable tamper tests. It remains a development preview until it has a signed distribution channel and independent protocol and implementation review.
